“You know me as Scarface, but now you get the opportunity to meet Brad Jordan.”

Revered rapper, Scarface, has earned a loyal following thanks to his inspiring sound, heard on such hits as “On My Block” and “Smile”. The Houston native came triumphantly on the scene back in ‘88 with the Geto Boys, and has continued his impressive solo reign to present day, culminating in one of the biggest accolades for the 47-year-old rapper: Houston has honored him with his very own day.

Dubbed “Scarface Day”, the holiday was appointed by Houston’s mayor and councilman, Sylvester Turner and Dwight Boykins, respectively, on June 26th. Scarface took to the podium to share his appreciation and some special words, “You know me as Scarface, but now you get the opportunity to meet Brad Jordan,” he told those in attendance. “I’ve done a lot of music, you know. I’ve done a lot of speaking of social … words that take place in our community. That Scarface has turned into Brad Jordan. I really want to let y’all know that I’m getting ready to make a super impact in the community because that’s the most important thing to me right now.”

A big congrats goes out to Scarface. We can’t wait to see what you continue to accomplish in Houston.
