There’s been a lot of debate recently regarding the proverbial rap king of New York. Mainly started by ambitious claims by the polarizing rapper, Tekashi69, lots of New York rappers have taken turns announcing their sole ownership of NY’s hip-hop throne. A trending hip-hop narrative, this argument has welcomed a lot of bragging and bravado, but the real emcees let their skills do the talking.

One artist who is extremely confident in wearing NY’s crown is the Brooklyn rhymer, Joey Bada$$. In the limelight since 2012 thanks to his groundbreaking debut mixtape, 1999, Joey recently took to the booth to proclaim his stature and seat at the head of New York’s rapper table.
