SMILF premieres November 5th on Showtime.

Harlem-based rapper Bodega Bamz has cultivated a strong, loyal following, positioning him as one of the most notable underground MCs. Known for his popular projects, Strictly 4 My P.A.P.I.Z. and Sidewalk Exec, in addition to collaborations with A$AP Ferg and Flatbush Zombies, Bamz is a New York gem who deserves more attention. Hopefully, his latest professional endeavor will return some brand recognition for Bamz.

While he’s dabbled in film before—he’s produced and starred in a couple of his own short films, one alongside Cypha Sounds—he’s never made the official jump to Hollywood—until recently. After auditioning a couple of times in New York and LA, Bamz landed a recurring role in Showtime’s forthcoming show, SMILF, as a rapper and friend to one of the main characters, Carlos.

This is an incredible opportunity for the gritty New Yorker, and we wish him the bust of luck. SMILF will premiere on November 5th on Showtime.
