Scarface and DJ Quik Announce Big News

Back to the lab again.

Former Geto Boys emcee, Scarface, hasn’t put out a solo project in over two-years—his first album since 2008. Fans miss the “On My Block” rapper’s layered lyrical attack facilitated by his rugged, raspy flow that helped structure rap’s Golden Age era. Well, it looks like we’re going to be reintroduced this Hip Hop staple sooner rather than later.

In a recent HipHopDX interview, Compton Hipo Hop staple DJ Quik announced the he and Scarface were working on a new EP. The two have been touring together since early August, with 12 planned dates and the potential for future shows to be added. Asked about the tour, Quik informed DX of their longstanding working relationship, and how they’re currently working on an EP. They’re recording every single show during the tour to listen back on while they simultaneously write lyrics on the us in between tour stops.

Their tour itself might be short in duration, but hopefully we have more Scarface x DJ Quik collaborations imminently waiting.
